We have been told to move out of the class 1 dog training area.

The DNR is arranging our move just east of access rd F.

Between F and the ATV people aka Class 2 training area.

I'm not pleased with this, cause we have more water on top of us which makes it hazardous for kids and your rockets. (unless the ponds are filled....NOT!)

We plan on going through with the move as soon as the DNR gets our location approvements completed with the finances that are available. We've sent in the designs and what we need to organize a safe launch.

If we stick with this plan at least there will be a place to launch high power and low power rockets safely in southeastern WI.

If anyone is interested, we've been launching in the class 1 area since 1996.

Also, I never did get a thank you from the dog association for moving. In the past we tried to arrange launches when dog training was not scheduled. Some dog clubs worked with us that had to train near the area without problems.

But this was not the issue, it's just a reluctancy of sharing a designated domain that the dog association has rights too. That's just my opinion!

Your comments are accepted but keep it clean....or try too.

As for launches, we are presently at area E until further notice.

Frank,

Thanks for everything you guys have done to at least get us a new spot. I know the club has been more than flexible to work with the dog clubs. But I guess they think they own the f…… park. They have 2 weekends a month without any rockets around and have the ability to go to smaller areas, but not good enough for them.

What issues do you see besides ponds in the new area? What about the ATV area, is that going to be a safety problem?

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Thanks, Vern

Are you saying we won't fly from new area untill improvements are done to the site? I can't see us flying out of parking lot-E once ATV people start useing their area. How far East from F do they want us? What are they saying about recovery a lot of the launches rockets drift WSW can we walk to get our rockets?
Thanks
Gary

All these questions will be tested once we start regular launches. Yes, the ATV is a concern (recovery area) and has been addressed to the DNR. I heard their trial (loop) may become shorter. As said earlier we will still get complaints from the ATV and the dog people.

Well, at least it gets us away from the wildlife refuge and it's associated ponds.

The DNR may as well relabel the "Special Use Zone" as "Dog People Only".

I fail to understand the immense favoritism towards the dog people, but I know that I and others are truly appreciative of your efforts Frank to help preserve high power rocketry in SE Wisconsin.

We'll see you all Saturday!

Is this a done deal?? We talked in the past about mounting an effort with WSGC and UWM to stay in the same area.

If it is cast in stone, should we get a Memorandum of Understanding signed that allows us to stay where we are until the improvements are complete

My feelings is the Park will never make the improvements and hope we just go away.
