How about using an I-211 again?? That's my favorite!

Al, We were looking at using I211's or I245G's when Tim suggested he might be able to get a good price on the new AMW/Pro-X skidmarks. He came through, see below.

That time of the year again... dig out the timeless Minie Magg, get a good deal on a motor, and fly it at Bong in August. The details of the 2009 edition:

Date: Saturday, August 15th
Event: TWA launch at Bong
What: Loc Minie Magg, kit or scratch, flown in unison with a herd of other Maggs at high noon.
Motor: The newly minted AMW/Pro-X I180 Skidmark, available through Wildman Rocketry for the special price of $60 for the 38-3G casing and motor. You must participate in the drag race in order to receive special pricing.
Contest? Sure, we'll come up with something; closest to Tim's trailer, longest duration, etc.

Sign up here if you intend to participate. See you there!

Hi Eric....Kristin Olson says to sign her up. She built a new Minie Magg and I test flew it for her on Sat. at Bong. It flew nice and straight. Greg Olson

Count Me In! - Pb

Tim told me that the motor selected for the drag race is a AMW/Pro38 338I180-14A Skidmark p/n P38R-A-3G-SK. (Fits P38-3G Casing.)
Reload plus casing at a great drag race deal price of only $60. For me this was a great way to get the casing for all the 3 grain propellant types from Cesaroni, cool.

IMPORTANT:
Tim and Trailer WILL NOT be at the August launch.
All orders for the August launch are by PREORDER ONLY!

Should be spectacular: an entire rack of SkidMarks launched simutaneously!!

Note that the Magg race special has been added to the Wildman website. Do what you need to do to ensure your motor is there waiting for you at the launch (remember Tim will not be at the launch, but will have a delivery boy or girl there in his place).

May I please borrow a "Delay Adjust Tool" (PRO DAT-38) from someone at the launch? Or will there be one available to use at the registration table maybe?
(My first timer with the Pro-38 system).....
I'm reading the instruction sheet I downloaded......
Note that the Reload/Case Magg Race Deal does not include this item SKU: P38-DAT
and for those using motor eject (like me)......

Paul,

I don't have a DAT, but I've never needed one. Just drill 1/32" per second using a 3/16" drill bit. Face the drilled side toward the propellant and go.

I'll be looking for a 7 sec. delay after motor burnout. The stock delay is 14 sec, so I'll drill 7/32" deep. 6/32" or 3/16" would probably be fine. I make a masking tape "thrust ring" at 7/32" from the end of the drill bit, slowly hand drill until the thrust ring is seated against the face of the delay. Done.

You're free to borrow my 3/16" bit, masking tape, and ruler if you like.
